Esher Church School is a Church of England Primary School situated in Esher, north west Surrey. We are a two form entry school serving the local community and the four local parishes of Christ Church Esher, Holy Trinity Claygate, All Saints Weston Green and St Christopher’s, Hinchley Wood.

Children come to us from many local nurseries and our Year 6 pupils transfer to a wide range of secondary schools in the local area and beyond.

We enjoy an excellent reputation locally due to our focus on encouraging each child to realise their academic and personal potential while also developing a sense of responsibility for themselves and others.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection was carried out in December 2007 and concluded:

‘This is an outstanding school. Pupils make outstanding progress and, as a result, standards are exceptionally high by the end of Years 2 and 6. Pupils benefit from an exciting, innovative curriculum and outstanding teaching’.

The school prides itself on providing excellent pastoral care for our children and aims to be a fully inclusive community where every child’s talents and achievements are celebrated.

Our Ofsted report states:

‘Pupils leave this school well rounded, caring and informed citzens who contribute well to the community. This is enhanced by the strong Christian ethos and good care, which permeate the school and foster a culture of respect for all. The school is a friendly and inclusive place to be, where everyone is made to feel welcomed and valued’.

The school is further strengthened by membership of The Elmbridge Confederation of Schools, a partnership of 32 schools in Elmbridge who share a vision to develop a creative, coherent 3-19 yrs curriculum that will engage all learners and equip them with the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.
